“Social auditing & culture(s)”

On May 10 and 11, 2010, The Arab Society of Faculties of Business, Economic and Political Sciences (BEPS) and The Faculty of Business and Commercial Sciences at The Holy Spirit University of Kaslik (USEK), organized jointly with The International Institute of Social Audit, the 12th Spring University for Social Audit on “Social Audit and Culture(s)” at The Holy Spirit University of Kaslik (USEK).

More than 80 researchers and Deans from Europe and the Middle East participated in the abovementioned conference, along with a big number of professionals. It is noteworthy that the importance and singularity of Printemps 12th University is that it enabled Arab and European researchers to exchange their ideas, approaches and experiences about « social audit and cultures » theme.
Unfortunately, the latter remains a current theme that is not addressed with the required extent and depth for a better approach of a future with no boundaries.


He is the Chairman and founder of TAG-org. Created in 1972, TAG-Org employs over 2000 multi-disciplined professionals and operates out of 73 offices in the Middle East and North Africa, with representative offices in Europe and North America. Internationally renowned philanthropist, many honorary prizes and distinctions were awarded to Talal ABU GHAZALEH. He is the head of various groups, organizations and international committees.
Dean of the Faculty of Business Administration and Commercial Sciences at the Holy Spirit University ok Kaslik, Secretary-General of the Arab Society of Faculties of Business, Economic and Political Sciences (BEPS), he is one of the eight members of the Eduniversal scientific committee where he represents the Middle-East and the Eurasia. He combined his business carrier with his academic one, working as a consultant for several well-known companies before he chose to fully dedicate himself to education. He was visitor and associate professor in many foreign universities including Paris II, Euromed-Marseille, Lyon III and the George Washington University where he was awarded an appreciation prize. Author of several publications, Professor Azoury is also the Editor in chief of the “Arab Economic & Business Journal” as well as the “Lebanese Journal of Business and Economics”.
PERETTI Jean Marie
Graduated from ESSEC and Sciences Po Paris, Doctor in Business Administration, he is an experienced international researcher, professor, consultant and corporate executive. Former director of the ESC Marseille (1984-1990), professor at ESSEC since 1990, Jean-Marie PERETTI is the director of the Corse IAE since 2001 where he started lecturing in 1995. Social auditor, he provides companies and international organizations with consultancies on Human Resources Management and Corporate Social Responsibility.
Holder of a doctorate in linguistics, he is the Secretary-general of the Association of Arab Universities (AARU) founded under the League of Arab States guardianship. Member of the High Council of Culture, he is also the representative of the High Council of Egyptian Universities and board member or the Arab University of Nayef. Dr. HASHEM was awarded innumerable prizes, medals and honorary decorations by the Arab Republic of Egypt, the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Republic of Yemen. He published several books, scientific and research papers regarding politics, economics, sciences and theology that were then translated..
Doctor in Business Administration from the University Montesquieu Bordeaux IV-France, she is professor at the Lebanese University and is qualified for scientific research direction. She is member of the CRECCI–Bordeaux (Research Center on International Audit and Accounting) and of the Scientific Council of the Lebanese University Doctoral College. Amal ABOU FAYAD is the author and co-author of more than 10 books and took part in international scientific conferences organized by the Lebanese Association of Certified Public Accountants. Furthermore, she held seminars for auditors from consultant firms in Lebanon.
Holder of a Doctorate in Business Administration from the University Santo Thomas in Philippines, he is assistant associate professor at the University of Jerash in Jordan. He researches and lectures on human resources management, business administration and economics. He took part in many papers since 1994 on the occasion of international conferences.
Holder of a Master Degree/DESS in Human Resources Management, a Bachelor in Industrial Psychology and a Bachelor in Education Sciences from the Saint-Joseph University in Beirut, she is Director of the organization and human capital development for the pharmaceutical group Algorithm since June 2000. Nicole BAKHACHE is also consultant and trainer in development and management of human capital. She currently studies in development and knowledge of human behaviors and is on hire with the International Transactional Analysis Association as transactional Analyst.
Holder of a Doctorate in Business Administration and Professor qualified for scientific research direction, he is the Chairman and Founder of the Lebanese Council of Human Resources Experts. He promotes and contributes to international scientific events since 1979. He was appointed Consultant to the UNESCO in Paris for the social computing program setting up in Egypt from 1990 to 1992. He wrote several scientific papers and is the author of a long list of communications on the occasion of scientific conferences.
Holder of a Doctorate in Human Resources Management and Professor qualified for scientific research direction, he is the head of the research laboratory on management of the organizations (LAREGO) at the University of Marrakech where he lectures Business Administration and Human resources management. He is also the Chairman and Founder of the Moroccan Association for Social Audit. His main research fields are Human Resources Management and Organizational behavior.
BESSON Dominique
Associate Professor in Business Administration at the Lille IAE, he endorsed teaching, research and administrative functions (he was in charge of the Master of Sciences and social sciences techniques applied to Business from 1996 to 2003). Since 2004, Dominique BESSON is the operation manager of the scientific journal “European Union Revue of Organizing” published in three different languages. Furthermore, he is since June 2005 officer of the Bachelor in Organization Management and creator of the Bachelor in Business Administration. He issued several books and papers on the psychology of organizations, the Business Administration and Human Resources Management. He contributed to many papers on the occasion of international conferences since 1996.
BOIRAL Olivier
Doctor in Business Administration from HEC Montréal, professor at the Business Administration Department of the University of Laval, Olivier BOIRAL is the holder of the Canada Research Chair on International Management Standards and Environmental Affairs. His recent works deal essentially with environment management systems, environmental leadership action plans, critical analysis of the sustainable development concept and the integration of international management standards such as ISO 14001 and ISO 9001. Head of the Master programs in social and environmental corporate responsibility at the University of Laval, he is the author of a hundred of scientific papers and communications.
Holder of a Doctorate in Business Administration, professor in Entrepreneurship at Reims Management School and co-director of the IMART (Institute for the management of corporate recapitulation and handing over), she published many papers and articles on psychological, human and managerial issues deriving from SME handing over. Furthermore, she runs a club of business buyers and is a consultant for INFINE Transactions.
Jurist and Doctor in political sciences, former executive from the Credit Agricole, he is associate professor at Audencia Nantes where he lectures Human Resources Management and organizational behavior. His research fields are the leadership, psychology applied to management, social relations and negotiations with unions and management. Furthermore, he is Consultant and Trainer for several renowned groups.
Doctor in Business Administration (Paris-Dauphine University), engineer graduated from the University of Lyon and holder of a Master degree in Economics (Panthéon-Sorbonne), he has been for 30 years a corporate manager and professor. He has fully dedicated himself to research and education since 20 years and is head of research at Paris-Dauphine, at the IAE of Caen and at the CNAM (National Conservatory of Arts and Crafts). Besides, he is the Chairman of the group Vision, creator and head of the Academic journal “Management and future” and director of collection at Eyrolles Group and EMS/Corlet. His researches focus on profession prospective and the organizations. He wrote and published more than 20 books.
Assistant professor qualified for scientific research direction, he was director of the Tours IAE from 2006 to 2009 and is currently deputy director of the research laboratory in Business Administration at the University of Tours. Furthermore, he is board member of the University, member of the management council of the Rabelais Foundation and member of the Universities National Council. His fields of expertise regard the skills management and the prospective. Author of several papers and articles, he also intercedes with private and public organizations on skills management.
Graduated from CELSA and ESCP Europe, holder of degrees in sociology and philosophy, she is the diversity Officer at L’OREAL. After running the group communication policy on diversity, she is currently is charge of study projects on diversity and on diversity policy deployment and assessment. She participated in the first “Job and Diversity Forum” in 2006. Besides, she contributed to the Parenthood Charter in 2008 and to the creation of a diversity Label via the ANDRH (National association of Human Resources Officer). Expert in diversity management, she is the author of many communications on the occasion of international scientific conferences.
Former Minister of Agriculture, assistant to the ADG for social and economics affairs at the FAO, agronome engineer graduated from the National School of Grignon (France), holder of a DESS in Law and Economics from the St-Joseph University and of a doctorate in agro-economy from the Michigan State University, he served at the Ministry of Agriculture and at the Ministry of Economy for 15 years before he joined the FAO for 22 years where he was specialist in the marketing of the agricultural planning and representative of the FAO in Morocco. He is currently consultant to the FAO, the World Bank and the International Fund for Agricultural Development. He is also Chairman of two NGO dealing with environmental issues.
Engineer and holder of a Doctorate in Business Administration, he is an associate professor at the Caen IAE where he is the head of the Bachelor in Operations management and of the Master of production and supply chain management. His main fields of research are management accounting and the influence of culture on management change of tools. He is the author of several communications on the occasion of scientific conferences and of many papers. Among them, one was published in the very selective journal “Management Accounting Research”, only accounting journal to be referenced by the Social Sciences Citation Index (SSCI).
CUEVAS Fernando
Holder of a Doctorate in Psycho sociology of Organizations (Parix IX Dauphine), of a Master in Corporate Organization (Mexico) and of MA in Business Administration (Paris IAE), he is a former executive from several banks, industries and public institutions including EDF-GDF, Henri Mondor Hospital, CAMIF, SONY, Hospital of Pau, Clinics of the Landes, OMNIUM Group, TOTAL, Ministry of Trade and Craft, etc. He published about fifty conferences’ communications and a dozen of papers published in professional and scientific journals.
DUYCK Jean-Yves
Professor at the Institute of Business Administration of La Rochelle, he runs since 2005 the group of Age and time management within the AGRH. He is a board member of the AGRH and of the International Institute of Social Audit office. He published the special edition on seniors management in the Journal “Management et avenir” (n°6, January 2006), wrote in coordination with Stephane BELLINI the book « l’ouvrage en âge de travailler- Recherches sur les âges au travail » (Vuibert, 2009) and took part in many conferences (ESG, ANVIE, AGRH, IAS, Diversity, etc.). He seated and reported in many thesis juries on this subject.
Holder of a Doctorate in Business Administration and Economics from the University of Lieges (Belgium), she runs the Chair of Corporate Social Responsibility within the University of Louvain and lectures at the ICHEC Brussels Management School. Her main fields of expertise focus on the management of stakeholders, social certifications and diversity management. She is the author of articles in the SME international journal, books’ chapters and international conferences communications.
Doctor in Business Administration, he is associate professor at the Leonard de Vinci Department within the University of Corse where he lectures marketing to Masters’ students (strategic marketing, commercial action plans for SME). His main fields of research are the development of marketing to SME and the food industry marketing. He used to be a marketing executive at Unilever for 11 years.
Secretary-General of the Institute of Social Audit, he studied in Lille. He is professor and Consultant in Human Resources Management, former academic officer of the 1 year Human Resources course at ESSEC and he also lectures Human Resources and Skills Management at ESSEC and the School of Psychologists and Practitioners within the Catholic Institute of Paris. Louis FORGET is a former executive of a renowned international group.
FOUDAD Yassine
Yassine FOUAD is graduated from the IAE of Grenoble and Aix en Provence and qualified for Social Auditor certification to the S.A. 8000 standard. He has more than 25 years of gained experience in Human Resources Management (as trainer, auditor and officer) and in vocational training. He is the co-author of the book “Tous talentueux” (all talented) directed by Jean- Marie PERETTI (Eyrolles editions, 2008). He is the Chairman of the Algerian Association of Social Audit.
FRAY Anne Marie
Doctor in Business Administration and head of the Chair of Social Responsibility Management within the ESCEM Tours-Poitiers, she lectures Human Resources Management. Her latest publications are about “The responsible manager”, “the virtuous information”, “New governance principles in hospitals: management consequences on the stakeholders”, “Diversity: a setting up with shared responsibilities”, “the role of representations in the change process: study of innovative management tools adoption by social stakeholders”
Holder of a Doctorate in Business Administration from Polytechnique, Professor (Teaching and Research) at ESC-Amiens and head of the Pole Leadership and Human Resources, she is also researcher affiliated to the team Contacts within the University Jules Verne of Picardie. Her papers deal with the working time, diversity, seniors’ employability, etc. She is the author of various communications and publications and contributed to several collective books.
HABIB Camille
Holder of a Doctorate in Political Sciences from the University of Dalhousie in Canada and Professor at the Faculty of Law and Political Sciences at the Lebanese University, Camille HABIB is the Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration of the Lebanese University. He is member of the Arab Association of Political Sciences and member-counselor of the Arab Journal of Political Sciences. Professor HABIB is the author of many books, papers and presentations in conferences and symposiums. He lectures at the command and general staff Faculty of Fouad Chehab.
Holder of a Diploma in Electrical Engineering from State University of New York, an MBA from Yarmouk University and a PhD in management science from Amman Arab University, he is currently director of the management department at Jadara University in Jordan. Dr. Helal Qawasmeh worked for over 20 years at Jordan Telecom Group, has published several articles in professional journals in management and science, and has participated in several conferences.
Assistant Professor in the Department of Business Management at Al-Balqa’ Applied University in Jordan, he gives courses in management and marketing. Dr. Hiyasat holds a Doctorate in Business Management from the Nottingham Business School at Nottingham Trent University. He was Director General of Al Mugtabes Institution and editor in chief of the magazine Al Mugtabes. He is also the author of several articles and presentations.
HULIN Annabelle
Holder of a Ph.D. in Management science, she teaches at the Institut d’Administration des Entreprises (IAE) of the Université François-Rabelais of Tours (France). Her main research interests are skills’ and trades’ management, practices’ and skills’ transfer and planning management in trades, skills and jobs.
Holder of a Ph.D. in accounting from the Arab University of Jordan for Arab Studies, he is Assistant Professor of Management science at Zarqa’ University of Jordan. He has conducted teaching activities and research on bank accounting, financial reporting and auditing. He has also published several books and articles on accounting, internal audit and finance. Dr. Ibrahim has also participated in numerous papers since 2006 in the framework of international conferences, general or specialized conferences, both in Jordan and abroad.
George Jabbour holds a Ph.D. in international finance from George Washington University. He is currently Director of the Master’s program in Finance at George Washington where he is also professor of finance. He is Chairman of Global Finance Associates, Inc as well and Director of Global Asset Investments, LLC. He has to his credit several publications on financial issues. He also worked as a consultant in various countries such as Korea, Hungary, Egypt, Kuwait and Washington (USA), and occupied the position of advisor in the World Bank.
Certified as a “Senior HR Professional (SPHR)” at the Human Resources Association of the United States, she holds a Professional Certificate in psychometric tests of the British Psychological Society. She obtained her BA in Sociology and a MA in Psychology, Career Guidance and Counseling, of the American University of Beirut (AUB). She is a founding member and Secretary General of the Association of Human Resources of Lebanon (HRAL), and member of the Association of Human Resources of the United States (SHRM). Her professional experience is present in the MENA region through the activities and services throughout the consulting firm in Human Resources (HR Matrix) that she founded and manages as a partner.
Holder of a PhD in Social Sciences from the Free University of Brussels and central inspector of work, she is currently head of the promotion of social dialogue and coaching of the enterprise at the Ministry of Social Affairs of Solidarity and Tunisian Workers abroad. Her main areas of research are human resources’ management and social auditing. She is also the founder of the HRMA in Tunisia and assistant treasurer of the IAST among others. Dr. Feriel LAALAI wrote several scientific articles and is the author of a long list of papers in scientific conferences.
LAHOUD Jean-Claude
Doctor of Medicine (MD) at Saint Joseph University in Beirut (1986) and winner of the French College of Orthopedic Surgery and Trauma (1995), he obtained his PhD in Management Science from the University of Paris II (2009). Member of several national and international scientific societies, he holds dual professional university and hospital teaching and is member of the University Council of USEK.
General Engineer of Bridges, Water and Forestries, he is an alumnus of “Ecole Polytechnique”, of “Ecole Nationale des Ponts et Chaussées” and the Institute “Auguste Comte”. He is a permanent member of the general council of the environment and sustainable development within the French ministry of ecology, energy, sustainable development and the sea (MEEDDM). He is also the founding President of the association “RED-Ethics”, whose scope of action is the ethics of public policy and President of the “Circle of Business Ethics” dedicated to promoting professional ethics in business. He previously held various positions of international responsibility in the administration and big business companies. He also works as a consultant in several international institutions.
LAYADI Ouznadji
Holder of a Doctorate in Economics and Management from the University Paris I Sorbonne, he is also “Auditor at the SA8000 social standard”. He was Director of Human Resources of the National Society of Algerian Railway Transports before founding and directing the training improvement institute of working conditions. He also acts as a consultant trainer in the areas of human resources management and social auditing within training institutes and consulting offices.
Lecturer and a PhD holder in Management science, he is member of the Scientific Laboratory LARGEPA of PARIS II. He offers courses in marketing, human resources and sustainable development. His main research areas are marketing, including satisfaction and sales forces, human resources, information systems and sustainable development, including sustainable tourism and ecotourism. He wrote several scientific papers, a book (Management of sales forces) and chapters in edited volumes, and a long list of papers in various scientific conferences.
Holder of a Ph.D. in Economics from the University Paris-Dauphine (1994), holder of the aggregation of Economics and Management (1995), Doctor in Management science (University of South Toulon-Var, 2004) and able to lead Research in Management science (University of Western Brittany, 2008), he is an Associate Professor at USEK since 2007. He leads the CIRAME (International Center for Research and Applications in Management and Economics) after he has been in several French universities and schools (University Paris-Dauphine University of St. Etienne, University of Reims-Champagne-Ardennes, etc.). Today, his researches tackle entrepreneurship. He was also responsible for studies from 2002 to 2006 for ALEXIS-Shops of Management of Lorraine, a body accompanying entrepreneurs.
Holder of a PhD in Management science from the faculty of Economic Sciences and Business at the University of Algeria, he currently teaches at the University of Ammar Thligi in Aghwat in Algeria. Dr. Houari is also member of the scientific council of his faculty and has supervised and participated in the presentation of a large number of theses. He has also written various scientific articles and participated in numerous scientific conferences.
Holder of a MA in law, international administration option at Sorbonne, Paris University, she gives courses at the Faculty of Business Administration and Commercial Sciences at USEK where she is also the international relations officer.
Emeritus Professor of Management Science at the University of Montpellier, he conducts research on human resources management, social auditing, managerial and human issues, along with the transmission of SMEs. Honorary Dean of the Faculty of Social and Economic Administration of UM1, he is the author of several books.
He holds a Ph.D. in Management Science and Information Systems Management and is an assistant professor of management information systems and chairs the department of information systems management at the Faculty of Business and Economic Sciences at Jadara University in Jordan. He is also the evaluator of international journals and author of several scientific articles and books on information systems management, knowledge management and business world.
MERCK Bernard
Holder of a Diploma from H.E.C. (1966), approved auditor SA 8000(2005) and board member of the IAS, he led a career of HRD in various international companies. He was successively the Executive Manager of GLOBAL ONE France HR at HRD Group of France Telecom and in charge of “reengineering” of the HR Group. He is now the associate consultant of MCS and works in France and at the international level. He is the author of six books on the HR function (performance, GPC, Stress, “ reengineering”) and several hundred articles on the impact of ICT.
NAKHLÉ Samer François
He holds an MBA from the Lebanese American University and an MA in Economic and Social Administration from Jean Moulin Lyon 3 University; he is a doctoral candidate at the pulpit of human resources and organization of the University of Fribourg in Switzerland. He gives courses at several universities in Lebanon as the Lebanese University, CNAM and the Antonine University. His main research areas are Human Resources Management, intercultural management and transfer of HR practices in MNCs.
Professor and Head of Resources Human Audencia Nantes School of Management, she contributes to the development of centers of expertise on diversity, Corporate Social Responsibility and management skills. She is a member of the Institute for Global Responsibility in Business and Thematic research group on “Diversity and equality professional “of the HRMA.
Dean of the Faculty of Sciences and Computer Engineering, head of the Department of “Chemistry and Life Sciences” and holder of a Ph.D. in chemistry from the University Claude Bernard Lyon-I, he is a founding member of the association LAAS (Lebanese Association for the Advancement of Sciences). He is Director of the Research Unit CNRS-USEK with the participation of professors from UL’s “Research Group on the Environment and Energy Recovery (STRIKE)”. He is Vice-President of the International Committee of the General Confederation of Small and Medium Enterprises and Small and Medium French Industries (CGPME-PMI-Rhône- Alpes). He wrote several scientific articles and is the author of a long list of papers in the scope of scientific conferences.
Holder of a Ph.D. in Management Science from IAE Aix-en-Provence (Aix-Marseille III), he is a tenured Professor at Group ESC Clermont where he heads the department of “Business Analytics”, the second year of High School marketing program and the relationship marketing elective. His main research areas are sustainable development marketing, innovation marketing and entrepreneurship. He has published articles in the journal “Management et Avenir” and “the scientific journal of business” (RSG).
Holder of a Research Master in Management Science and a Professional Master in sports management, he is a doctoral candidate in Management Science at the Institute of Enterprises Administration (IAE) of Poitiers and contributes since 2006 to the evaluation of public policies of employment and youth training. His research focuses primarily on the determinants of employability of young people, the process of recruitment, the professional choice and integration into the company. He has written several research reports and papers in scientific conferences.
Holder of a Ph.D. in Management Science (2009) and of a Diploma in Advanced Studies (2003) from the University of Montesquieu Bordeaux IV, he has been responsible for research and development of CIRAME at USEK since 2009. He also gives management and accounting courses in the Faculty of Business and Commercial Sciences at the Holy Spirit University of Kaslik (USEK).
Professor at the University of Caen, specialized in Human Resources Management, associated with the lab NIMEC and head of the HR learning Master at IAE Caen, she also intervenes at ESSEC where she directs the curriculum of 1 year in HR continuing learning. She established in 2004 with Luc Boyer “Management et avenir” magazine, ranked CNRS/AERES and is its Editor in Chief. She is the author of fifty papers, articles and books chapters.
Partner of “Cultural Awareness Consulting” in Cologne and head of” Johannes- Overath-Institute “at Potsdam University, he holds a doctorate in musicology, philosophy and history from the University of Cologne. The Holy Spirit University of Kaslik (USEK) also awarded him an honorary doctorate in music. He served as Director in the German society GEMA for more than two decades and that of Professor of Musicology at the “Pontificio Istituto di Musica Sacra”, Rome.
VERNE Jean-François
Holder of a Ph.D. in Economic Sciences from the University of Aix-Marseille since 2001, he teaches economics and quantitative techniques in the Faculty of Business and Commercial Sciences at the Holy Spirit University of Kaslik (USEK). He took part in the intelligence committee of the magazine “Revue des Sciences de Gestion” and is the scientific coordinator of the magazine “Revue Libanaise de Gestion et d’Economie”, an electronic journal published by USEK and supported by the “Agence Universitaire de la Francophonie” (AUF). He is also a member of the editorial board of the “Arab Economic and Business Journal”.
VILETTE Marc-André
Instructor-researcher in HRM and academic head of a management course level II in training at ESC Saint-Etienne, he co-hosts the regional mechanism HR SMEs. Author of several articles in academic and professional journals and book chapters, co-head of Research Groups Topic “HRM in SMEs “and “Age and times management” of the HRMA, he coordinated with Peter LOUART “HRM in SMEs” in the collection HRMA Research at Vuibert and with Jean-Yves DUYCK “Time and labor HRM”, supported by the Faculty of Business and Commercial Sciences at USEK. He has held several positions of RRH timeshare in SMEs.
Holder of a Ph.D. in Management Science and of an accreditation to supervise research, she directs the Executive CIFFOP and teaches human resources management and organizational behaviour at the University Panthéon Assas. Her main research interests include the management of relationships, social dialogue, spirituality and the analysis of qualitative data.
WALZL Markus
Professor of Economics at Bamberg University and researcher at METEOR(Maastricht University), he conducts research focused generally on the impact of the educational process and social and cultural networks on economic decisionmaking and, more particularly, on the optimal design of incentives, employment contracts and commercial institutions.
Holder of a PhD in Medical Sciences awarded by the Faculty of Medicine of Montpellier (France) in 1965, he was the Medical Advisor of the National Fund of Social Security (France) from 1970 to 1996. He was also the Director of Medical Service of the Ile de France from 1985 to 1995 (France). He is the Founding Director of the Institute of Health Management and Social Protection at St. Joseph University and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Social Security Fund.
